All In – Investing
“Our view of money and how we use it says as much about us as anything we may say or do.” The way we use our money reveals the priorities and desires of our hearts. For this reason, when Pastor Yogi preached his sermon Investing in the All In series, he wanted to preach to our hearts. As Jesus taught, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Yogi issued a call to invest in the kingdom of God at Hope Church. Investing our money in God’s work yields the best returns, because his returns are eternal. There are three motivating factors to give to the work of the church.
First, we give because God is worthy. There is no god like our God, who has demonstrated his great love for us by sending his son to make atonement for our sins.
Second, giving back to God makes me a partner in the work he is doing. Paul writes, in 1 Corinthians 3:9, that we are God’s “fellow workers.”
Third, the work I am partnering in is making a difference. Our faithful gifts aren’t lining anybody’s pockets, but instead are being used to carry on the work of God’s kingdom here in Westerville, in our district and other parts of the country, as well as all over the world.
