How to Family: Finances
Finances are one of the most complicated subjects when it comes to family. Researches say that couples fight over money as much as, if not more than, anything else. Financial pressure is one of the most stressful experiences for any family. At Hope Church, we would love for all of our families to be financially healthy, including being debt-free. We would also love for our young people to come out of college without student loans, and for each of us to be saving for the future. In this message, Pastor Yogi gave us nine points of wisdom in how to deal with our finances.
First, remember who the owner is. (Hint: It’s God!)
Second, embrace your work.
Third, do not fall into debt.
Fourth, teach your children about money. If you don’t teach your child about money, our society will.
Fifth, seek wise counsel and have a plan. Pastor Yogi gave seven baby steps that will help you make a solid financial plan. Listen to the message to hear them!
Sixth, make the decision to say “Enough!”
Seventh, consider those in need. Remember the poor and those who struggle to meet their basic needs.
Eighth, look forward to the final audit.
Ninth, be faithful to assist in building the Kingdom, financially.
Following these nine principles can help your family deal with the stress of financial pressure in a way that honors God.
