What’s Next: Where We Are
In this message, which kicked off our new series What’s Next, Pastor Yogi gave a candid assessment on where Hope Church is right now. Hope Church is unique in that it is both a church plant and a turnaround church. We have some characteristics of a new church, and other characteristics of a long-standing congregation. But this doesn’t mean that there should be confusion about our mission or purpose. We are a church, and our task is to serve and worship our Lord, Jesus Christ.
In order for us to be faithful to God’s calling, we need to take an honest look at where we are, what we’re doing, and where we’re going. This is true for individuals, families, and churches. For Hope Church, there are many indicators of health and vitality. The number one compliment that the pastors receive from guests is how friendly our congregation is. We also have a high percentage of our members and regular attenders engaged in small groups. These are just two of several encouraging signs that we are being faithful to God’s call on our church.
But as Yogi lays out in this message, there are other things that could use our attention. Primarily, we have seen very few people make a new commitment to Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The Gospel is such good news, and God has entrusted it to His Church so that the world will know that there is salvation in no other name but Jesus. Our prayer for 2017 is that God would move and salvation would be frequent and full at Hope Church!
