Editor’s Note: We are picking up this series again after taking a break for Advent and January.
All of our praying, planning, working, and dreaming has been building toward this: the launch of Hope Church on September 27. We are extremely excited to see what God will do in and through us on that day, and in the weeks and months ahead. Though we don’t have all the answers, and though none of us can see the future, we are full of expectant faith that God will do great things in the advancement of his kingdom through Hope Church.
Leading into Launch Sunday, we will be starting up a new sermon series called Hope Is Here. This series is an exploration of the theme of hope in 1 Peter. For the Apostle Peter, hope was more than a buzzword; it was at the very center of his faith. He begins his letter with this exuberant prayer of praise: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Peter’s hope was alive, pulsating through his body, animating his spirit, and energizing him for the task of proclaiming the Gospel. His hope was founded on the resurrection of Jesus, which is the great victory of God over the power of sin and death.
This hope is still alive for us today. It is not far off from any of us. This hope is here through the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Anyone can live with this thriving, vibrant hope that transcends death. We invite you to come join us for worship during this series, beginning Sunday, September 20 at 10:00am.
